Hazem Harb is a Palestinian visual artist born in Gaza in 1980, now based between Rome and Dubai, whose powerful work delves into memory, displacement, and the ongoing impact of occupation. After studying at the European Institute of Design in Rome, Harb developed a research-driven practice that spans painting, collage, and installation, often weaving together archival photographs, architectural elements, and personal ephemera to reconstruct and examine Palestinian history. His art is defined by stark, symbolic imagery that, instead of nostalgia, confronts viewers with the realities of loss, exile, and resilience, as seen in notable series like “Archaeology of Occupation” and “Borders are only in our minds.” Internationally exhibited and held in major collections including the British Museum in London and Centre Pompidou in Paris, Harb’s recent shows like “Gauze” in 2024 and “Not There, Yet Felt” in 2025 continue to resonate as testaments to Palestinian endurance and the urgent need for justice and peace in Palestine.
